Patient Support

Patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, as well as their care partners, are welcome to attend the Durham Parkinson's Disease Support Group, held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the fourth Tuesday of every month. This free support group, sponsored by the National Parkinson Foundation, is open to all (you do not have to be a Duke patient to attend).

Meetings are held in at the Duke Integrative Medicine Center (3475 Erwin Road, Durham NC, 27705)

Special events

Individuals with Parkinson's disease and their carers may also be interested in the following events hosted by our Center of Excellence. All individuals and carers affected by Parkinson's are welcome to attend (you do not have to be a Duke patient) :

  • "Meet the Researchers" - Friday, March 23, noon - 3 p.m.: Duke Neurology physicians, scientists, and clinical trials team will discuss Parkinson's disease research at Duke and beyond. This event will be held at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club (3001 Cameron Boulevard, Durham).   • On Friday, September 28, join us for "Parkinson's Disease 201: Managing the Middle Stages" from noon-4 p.m. This program is aimed for individuals and care partners who have been living with Parkinson's for five to 10 years. This event will be held at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club (3001 Cameron Boulevard, Durham). A $10 registration fee will include lunch and snack.
